Media Production - Media Designer (Web & Print)
Givex is looking for a Media Designer with both web and print production skill sets. If you have a solid foundation of both technical knowledge and artistic principles with writing and project managing skills - you are a perfect fit.
Experience in all 3 areas is an asset:
- Visual Design; come up with creative and appealing designs for all media
- Front-end development; fluent in (X)HTML/CSS, knowledgeable in standards, accessibility & flow and able to convert the visual design into a remarkable website. Back-end development; fluent in scripting, web servers and operating systems (tinkering to proficient).
- Print Production; comfortable in a fast paced environment, including pre-press/artwork preparation and production
Roles and Responsibilities
Our Media Department works with a creative team of 6 individuals, sharing knowledge, designing and building media products. As a Media team member, you will:
- Develop websites, manage content and review routines for improvement of numerous sites
- Communicate with developers, coordinating web front-end and back-end functionality
- Create and design aesthetic web page layouts; quickly delivering numerous scenarios, mockups and proofs of concept for presentation to clients
- Learn technical artwork specifications for plastic cards and process client artwork
- Design client artwork for web and gift card production
- Support our Marketing Team; design collateral, tradeshow booths and material, all in-house marketing material
- Support our Sales Team; understand specifications and user requirements and produce various media deliverables for approval
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience in Graphic Design, Web Development and Print Production
- Extensive knowledge in hand-code (X)HTML, CSS, and the ability to adapt and learn any new language or application on the fly and ability to utilize wysiwyg technology
- Working knowledge of PHP/ASPX/Flash and Flash action script/Script languages
- Knowledge of .NET, Coldfusion, Javascript, SQL
- Proficient in use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (CS2), DreamWeaver, Flash, QuarkXpress (Min V 6.5)
- Familiar with numerous web browsers and behavior
- Experience with programming languages, CMS and web interface design
- Comfortable using MAC and PC platforms with advanced computer skills in MS Office
- Burning desire to learn new technologies and expand your expertise
- Excellent communication skills with ability to think in a consultative way
- Education: Computer Studies, Fine Arts, Interactive Media, Print Production or equivalent experience
